UPDATED July 7, 2025
A brand NEW theme park is NOW OPEN in Orlando, Florida as of May 22, 2025: Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe!
Five themed lands make up Epic Universe: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and the land we’re discussing here: Celestial Park! Your adventure starts as you enter underneath the Cronos — a large clock tower.
And from here, you can step through four other portals into the park’s additional lands.
You see, Celestial Park serves as the heart and main hub of Epic Universe and is naturally the first land guests encounter at the new theme park after stepping through the entrance. (DFB PRO TIP: Because Celestial Park is so spacious, you’ll want to make sure that you give yourself plenty of travel time to go from one land to the next.)
The design of the land is inspired by World Fair designs with an eclectic emphasis on aesthetics from the 1850s and 1930s. According to Universal, “Celestial Park puts the ‘park’ back in ‘theme park.’ As soon as guests enter the imaginative world, they’ll embark on a journey of discovery, thrills, and excitement as they wander through lush living gardens nestled along shimmering waters surrounded by stunning architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements.”
Celestial Park Attractions
Stardust Racers
Stardust Racers is a dual-launch racing coaster which takes you soaring through the skies to see who’s the fastest of them all. Two vehicles launch simultaneously and “race” each other!
As the story goes… the citizens of Celestial Park, known as Celestians, have figured out a way to harness and capture the energy of the comets. It has become a past-time of the Celestians to ride them across the night sky, and now we can also experience this on Stardust Racers!
Stardust Racers seeks to combine the nostalgic feel of a wooden roller coaster with the 360 immersive experience of the Celestial Spin.
The coaster reaches speeds up to 62 miles per hour, and the track reaches up to 133 feet high. (YOW!) In total, there are 5,000 feet of track. The ride vehicles resemble comets (and are fully illuminated at night!), and they “race along an inverted crisscross, known as the ‘Celestial Spin’ in a dazzling display of blazing colors and ethereal music.”

Celestial Park — Nighttime Entertainment
The dancing fountains mentioned above also present a nighttime show. While Celestial Park itself is stellar, it also includes elements of Greek mythology. The concept is that by day, Apollo rules the park, but at night, the goddess Luna takes over and is in charge of the “luminescense of the night.”
The two have an exchange when day becomes night.
Guests can enjoy a ceremony that slowly brighten up the lights in the park, growing “with the swells of the music until we have a burst of light,” followed by a “dance of light” throughout everything in the area including the foliage and surrounding buildings. Once the ceremony is complete, Celestial Park has its lighting ready for the night!
