Planning a trip to Disneyland Resort? Then you’ll want to be IN THE KNOW about Disneyland’s Lightning Lanes!

Disneyland’s Lightning Lanes provide access to “Lightning Lanes” for rides so guests can bypass Standby lines for select attractions through an extra purchase made on the Disneyland app. This optional service helps guests maximize their time in the Disneyland Resort theme parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

There are three types of Lightning Lane services available for purchase:

• Lightning Lane Multi Pass; 
• Lightning Lane Single Pass;
• And Lightning Lane Premier Pass. 

This page explores the Lightning Lane Premier Pass for use in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Lightning Lane Premier Pass made its Disneyland debut on October 23rd, 2024. This inclusive option grants one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience in both of the Disneyland Resort theme parks for one price, eliminating the need to monitor Lightning Lane availability and make new Lighting Lane reservations throughout the day, and granting the ability to simply show up at an attraction and enter the Lightning Lane (as opposed to booking a specific time).

PLEASE BE AWARE that this new option is subject to “VERY LIMITED AVAILABILITY,” per the Disneyland website. It is not yet known if limited availability refers strictly to the rollout period.

How Much Does Lightning Lane Premier Pass Cost?

According to the Disneyland website, Lightning Lane Premier Pass prices for Disneyland Resort “vary by date and demand within a $300 to $400 range.” 

When Can I Purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass?

Guests may purchase up to seven (7) days prior to their park visit, starting at 7AM Pacific Time. Disney also notes that guests visiting with a Walt Disney Travel Company package can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass when they receive their park tickets 3 days in advance of their arrival.

Remember: Lightning Lane Premier Passes are subject to very limited availability. Before you purchase, everyone in your party will need valid park admission and park reservations for that date. It is also crucial to connect/link everyone in your traveling party on your Family and Friends list in the app to ensure that the selections you make are for everyone in your party. How Do I Purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass?

You can purchase Premier Pass via the Disneyland app.  If you do not see Lightning Lane Premiere Pass on your app’s home screen, simply search for “Lightning Lane Premier Pass” in the app.

Once you pull it up, you’ll see the the option to purchase Premier Pass. Click on the “Purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass” to continue.

You’ll then see a calendar for the days you can purchase Premier Pass. You can purchase it up to two days in advance. This is also where you’ll see the price of Lightning Lane Premier Pass per date. Choose the date you wish to purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

Once you chosen the date, you’ll see the date you chose as well as a checkbox to purchase the program. Double-check the details and then click on the checkbox and then click on “Continue.”

The next screen will give you details about who you’re purchasing the pass for. Make sure your entire group is listed before continuing. You’ll also get your subtotal. Click on “Continue” to continue your purchase. Once your purchase is complete, you’ll receive scannable “ticket” bar code.

How Do I Use Lightning Lane Premier Pass in the Parks?

Using Lightning Lane Premier Pass in the parks is also done through the Disneyland app. We’ll use an example starting with a ride in Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. 

First, open the app and you’ll find the list of available Premier Pass attractions. (See all the inclusions in the next section on this page.) When you visit one of the eligible attractions, you’ll also select it within the app, as you see here with Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

In turn, the app will redeem your pass for the selected attraction. (So, technically you don’t even have to select the attraction in the app — just scan in when you get to the Lightning Lane and it will all link back to the same barcode.)

Following the ride, Smugglers Run is “Redeemed” and now unavailable to be selected a second time.

Be forewarned that while Premier Pass is the most expensive option, the actual process when you arrive at the attraction is the same as it is with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. You’ll still redeem at the Lightning Lane entrance and join the same Lightning Lane queue that you would if you were using Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass. There are no additional perks beyond the normal Lightning Lane usage within the Lightning Lane queues. 

From here, RIDE and REPEAT the process once each for all included rides!
