Frontierland Dining
Are you ready to rustle up some vittles in Frontierland? There are PLENTY of places to do exactly that!
The primary Counter Service location in Frontierland is Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe (established in 1878, of course).
Grab an entree of Mexican cuisine (choose from items like a Steamed Tamale, Nacho Bowl, or Southwest Caesar Salad), or a snack like Mini Churros or Chips con Queso.
You can also grab some quick grub at the Golden Oak Outpost!
Though you’ll often find eats like Tiana’s Famous Beignets, sometimes the Outpost serves up some big surprises, so be sure to stop by!
Make your way to Westward Ho for a Cold Brew Coffee, Frozen Slushy, or even a savory snack.
P.S. You might even happen upon some Candied Bacon here!
And, of course, you can always stop by the Frontierland Popcorn Cart for some of the freshly popped good stuff!
And while you can grab a Churro in several spots around Magic Kingdom, somehow they always taste a little bit better when they’re from the Frontierland Churro Cart!
You can find Mickey Pretzels and Pepper Jack Pretzels here, too.
But we’re not done with our Frontierland tour yet…
More Frontierland Fun
Keep an eye out for some classic Disney pals at the Frontierland Hoedown!
If you happen upon this line dancin’ party, you may spot some truly rare characters like Horace Horsecollar, Clarabelle Cow, the Country Bears, and more!
And guests moseying through Frontierland should also know this land offers great viewing spots for the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade!
The same goes for Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, Magic Kingdom’s stunning nighttime parade.
Disney Starlight begins on Main Street, U.S.A., and travel towards Frontierland for its parade route in a reverse of the Festival of Fantasy daytime parade route. So it’s not ONLY Main Street, U.S.A. that offers great vantage points for these must-see parades. (And if you can grab one of those fabulous Frontierland rocking chairs, then you’ve really got it made!)
Ditto goes for Character Cavalcades!
Speaking of characters… Frontierland is a great place to look for pals like the Country Bears!
Country Bears including Big Al, Romeo McGrowl, Wendell, and Shaker are are considered Roaming Characters, so they walk about the land to interact with guests!
Shopping and Merchandise
Hoping to pick up a lil’ something to remember your time at Tiana’s Mardi Gras Party? TWO stores themed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure joined the land with the opening of the attraction! Gear up at Tiana’s Bayou General.
(Tiana’s Bayou General is also where you can check out your online attraction photos from the BIG DROP at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!)
Or step inside the Critter Co-op!
The MUST-STOP for Disney Pin collectors is Frontierland Trading Post.
The Trading Post is your best bet in Magic Kingdom to find Limited Edition pins, among oodles of others.
Step right into the Prairie Outpost for hats and accessories including top hats, visors, sun hats, ball caps, fascinators, berets, and more.
You can even customize your very own hat!
Looking for Minnie Ears, bubble wands, and other fun park gear?
Big Al’s outdoor kiosk has what you need!
Disney Vacation Club Lounge
Disney Vacation Club Members can mosey on over to McKim’s Mile House in Frontierland to visit an exclusive lounge!
Inside, you’ll find plenty of air-conditioned seating, plus a Coke Freestyle machine and other beverages, WiFi, and plenty of places to rest and recharge — literally. There are outlets built into some of the tables here. The story of this lounge is that you’re traveling and stopping in at McKim’s roadhouse for a rest. They still live here (you can see their family quarters on the inaccessible second floor).
Access is available to DVC members with Membership Magic access. You can also visit as a guest of a DVC member. DVC members get up to 4 guests OR if you’re staying in a resort room, everyone on the reservation can come inside and sit a spell.
The Future of Frontierland — A Cars-Themed Expansion
START YOUR ENGINES… A new area inspired by the Pixar Animation Studios movie Cars is coming to Frontierland: Piston Peak! The Cars are leaving Radiator Springs to explore the West and head into new frontiers. And guests can look forward to two NEW Cars attractions.
Get ready to race through the mountains on wild terrain along mountain trails as you dodge geysers and splash through mud holes for the main attraction.
The second ride will be geared toward “smaller racers” and will be fun for the whole family!
The areas that were the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island are being transformed into this brand-new land coming to the park. That means that Cars land will be located in Frontierland and as Disney wrote will, “put our guests in the driver’s seat as we—quite literally—explore a new frontier in Frontierland.”
To that end, the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island (and the accompanying raft ride to the Island), and the Liberty Square Riverboat closed permanently on July 7th, 2025. You can see our coverage of the final day with these beloved classic attractions here.
